Even if you don't play golf, you have to admire the design of this Nike SQ Sumo Iron that will be available starting November 1. Tom's Stites, Nike's chief designer of such implements, calls it "the most forgiving iron Nike Golf has ever developed." He named the club Sumo because the weight of the club is positioned low and close to the shaft, thus taking advantage of what Nike calls the "Super Moment" of inertia when the club makes contact with the golf ball.
There's even more high-tech goodness residing on the back of the club, where you can see the neat-looking yellow polymer insert that's said to lessen that stinging feeling when the club doesn't meet up with the ball just right. Indeed, that's a sensation with which many of your humble narrators here at Sci Fi Tech are intimately familiar. Available with your choice of a steel or graphite shaft, there's a dear price to pay for such a gorgeous golf club: Prices start at $800 for a set.
CORRECTION: Thanks to an eagle-eyed reader, the price of the club has been corrected from $800 apiece to $800 a set.

not to mention that when it's in your bag it says sumo but when it's lined up to the ball it says OWNS!!!

Good morning. I own a set of these irons. I have a big gap between the 6 iron and 5 hybrid. Question, can I purchase the 5 iron versus the 5 hybrid to fill gap. My set is graphite with steff shaft and 3degrees upright.
Thanks very much and God Bless.
