Mobius MKII loudspeaker is big, spreads tunes 360 degrees

Artistic-Audio-Mobius-MKII-loudspeakers.jpg

Though it looks like some kind of stubby, cone-nosed alien with one eye, the Mobius MKII stands over three feet tall and the omni-directional, eight-inch speaker array provides 360 degrees of sound. The array is made from two midbass drivers mounted back to back, forming a bipolar speaker set — a lot like two speaker domes mounted against one another. The cone underneath is the enclosure of a custom-made subwoofer which is 10 to 12 inches long and pushes out deep bass at its front.

For a custom built product like the Mobius MKII, however, you have to pay a custom price — around $10,000 to $15,000, to be determined as the Mobius nears its 2008 debut.
