

Thin is the new big, I guess. Actually, perhaps thin and big is the new big, when you're talking about TVs. Since everyone is making gigantic TVs these days, TV manufacturers needed to start looking elsewhere for their technological innovations, and they started by going for thinness.
Just take a peek at Hitachi's new 32-inch HDTV, which clocks in at a mere 0.74-inches thick. That's a heck of a lot thinner than most HDTVs out there. Don't expect to get a TV this thin anytime soon, as these puppies won't be hitting store shelves until 2009, and even then they'll probably be ludicrously expensive. But hey, come 2011 I'm sure they'll be the norm.
