Audiovox 'Anyware' NVX3000PC hovers somewhere between handheld and laptop

Jensen-NVX3000PC---Screen.jpg

The NVX3000PC — or the "Anyware" mobile PC, as parent company Audiovox is calling it — is a portable computer launching under the Jensen brand that isn't quite a handheld GPS, nor a full laptop. Instead, the Anyware incorporates features of both.

The unit has a 7 inch widescreen, a card reader, and is GPS and Bluetooth capable like a handheld, but also runs Windows XP, has a 30 GB hard drive and a Wi-Fi module like a laptop. So users can attach it to their vehicle with the provided mounting bracket and get directions to where they want to go, and they can also take it back inside the house and browse the net, listen to music, and do what you normally would on a PC. The unit can also be synced up with a PC if you didn't want to type using its touchscreen.

A swell idea for the casual family, though this wouldn't replace a computer built for playing video games or running any other processing-heavy programs. The Jensen NVX3000PC is set to retail for $1,500.
