Waterproof IOCELL USB drive offers deep memory in a tiny package

iocell_1.jpg

Fulfilling your James Bond fetish just got a little easier courtesy the IOCELL mDrive waterproof USB device. Sporting a sexy black aluminum exterior accented by a hint of crimson, the mDrive is super thin at just 1.6 x 0.6 x 0.3 inches. Aesthetically, the mDrive works as a geek accoutrement or could conceivably pass as a tiny necklace charm. The 1-GB model will sell for $42 and the 2-GB model costs $63 (a 4-GB model is also in the works).

In addition to the waterproof feature, Korea-based IOCELL claims the device is also shock- and heat-resistant, perfect for escaping those Dr. Evil-esque volcano lairs with important data (or just getting valuable data back and forth from home to school/work daily). The mDrive is ready to merge seamlessly with your Windows, Mac or Linux PC and is reportedly able to stand up to over 1 million data writes over the course of 10 years.

I have a small, slim usb stick and I have to say that I am not happy with it. Its 512mb but if i try to put anything over 100 megs of data on it I can pretty much bet that it will have a corruption. Almost every time before use I have to format it several times. So, I am not holding my breath regarding this particular usb device either.
