An enterprising hacker has developed a piece of software that makes your Nintendo DS a lot more useful: a VoIP application. Yes, using the DS's built-in WiFi, touchscreen, and microphone, you can now make free calls once you're done playing Mario Kart DS for the hundredth time.

Of course, you'll have to do some crazy hacking to get new software running on your DS, and that's probably out of your league. But hey, if you're super cheap and don't want to buy a Skype phone, this is a pretty awesome hack. Just don't blame us if you brick your DS. — Adam Frucci
