The Speecys SPC-101C programmable robot includes a feature you might not have known you were looking for in a robotic companion, as you can teach it to laugh at all of your jokes. Imagine every time you deliver a punch line to a room full of frowning faces, your loyal laugh track busts a robo-gut and slaps its knee. You're guaranteed an audience of at least one.
Joking aside, you can pretty much teach it to do anything you like. Speecys has a motion creation program offered as a download that allows owners to do more than just motion editing for their clown-bot, enabling them to set voices and sounds, as well as instructions for the robot's 22 LEDs. The SPC-101C also takes advantage of face recognition technology, so it'd be interesting to see if you could program who it laughs at. The endless giggles aren't free, but $3,000 will make you look like the funniest guy in the room. Click on through for a video of the bot in action.
