If there is one thing every kitchen needs, it is a good knife, but what if that single knife could do more? BasicKnives is a conceptual design by Caroline Noordijk. It takes the average kitchen knife and integrates another useful tool into the blade like a vegetable peeler, grater, citrus zester or spice measuring apparatus.

The only problem with an idea like this is the potential for hazard. Peelers and graters are hard enough to use as it is without slicing and dicing your hand, but trying to use one that happens to be attached to a large knife has double the chance for a kitchen massacre. — Travis Hudson
