Hasbro Power Tour Guitar teaches riffs, not to rock (yet)

powertour_guitar.jpg

There is a great divide between learning to play the guitar and actually being able to rock. The Power Tour Guitar from Hasbro and Tiger Electronics can partially help, by teaching riffs without the needing expensive equipment and mangled fingers. This toy guitar lacks strings, instead opting for light-up buttons (think GuitarHero). The buttons will light up and teach riffs from six songs including Smoke on the Water and Wild Thing, both of which are very appropriate for children.

The fun doesn't end there. This guitar can also plug into your MP3 player for live jamming with your favorite songs. No other equipment is needed because the guitar already has a speaker and effects knobs. The Power Tour Guitar will have you well on your way to rocking for $70.
