Google has its sights set on Microsoft in a serious way. With Microsoft Office being the clear leader in office software, Google is looking to save people money by giving them the same products for free. They already offer word processing and spreadsheet applications that work online for free, and today they're launching "Presentation," a PowerPoint clone that'll help you make all sorts of horribly boring slideshows to torture your co-workers/classmates with.
If you're a casual user who just needs to type things up once in a while or make a slideshow every so often, it's almost a no-brainer to save your hundreds of dollars on Office and just use Google's application suite. They take up no space on your computer, allow you to share documents online, and, best of all, are totally free. Nice.
