Embraco refrigerated laptop cooling dock keeps the lap unscathed

intel_embraco_cooler.jpg

If you've ever used a laptop as its name suggests, you know that the heat produced can be uncomfortable for your… uh, lower extremities. Embraco, with the help of Intel is trying to solve that heating problem with the External Chilled Air Docking Station.

The docking station uses the world's smallest miniature compressor to cool air before flowing it through the laptop. Reports show that it can reduce the temperature inside a laptop up to 41%. Besides cooling down regular notebooks under a heavy workload, this would also work for overclocking applications, which has been practically nonexistent in the laptop world. This cooling dock will be available close to the holiday for $150.
