US Government developing RFID implant for soldiers

rfidimplant.jpg

The next time some crazy homeless guy comes up to you saying that the government planted a microchip in his brain, he just might be telling the truth. That's because the US Department of Defense has already started a program to develop a tiny microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, which can monitor soldier's vital signs, giving important information to trauma doctors and other first responders. It can also be used to continuously monitor the condition of people like astronauts, or someone with a chronic condition like diabetes. Human trials are set to begin in as few as five years from now.

Ethical questions as to whether the device can be used to track a person's location or activities when off duty have yet to be answered. However, if the thought of long term war in the Middle East isn’t enough to scare away new military recruits, the possibility of having one of these implanted should do the trick.

So you simply get near the frequency with a hi power RF emitter, and poof, no chip... Junction devices cannot stand overload without internally self destructing.
This is the reason Soviet bloc aircraft use old technology for the front end of radio receivers, or anything else that might be exposed to high power emissions, Such as the EMP from a nuclear detonation.

All this micro chip technology is wunnerful, just don't
go near a high power RF transmitting device, or X-ray
it.... Has same effect of putting your wet cell phone in the
microwave to dry it off, POOF and you will smell
burned electronics.... If your worried about any item
you buy having a trace device, and its not metal, just
stick it in the microwave, and bye bye device....

Thank's for the info. I read the first comment and am impressed. That also takes the "threat" out of being implanted until they figure a way to protect the device from being shorted out. At our age, my husband and I might find it a good idea for health reasons.
