Back in the old days, only the top pro photographers carried around a Rolleiflex 2.8F, the paparazzi-favorite twin-lens reflex camera that was originally created in Germany in 1929. Now Rollei has turned that classic design into a tiny palm-sized replica, the MiniDigi. This updated model is about half the height of the original and is actually a fully functioning 3.1-megapixel digital camera.
This special edition, limited to 1500 units, is outfitted in a dramatic-looking red body and commemorates Rollei's third year of manufacturing these MiniDigi replicas. Like its black-colored MiniDigi brandmate, it carries on the Rollei square format tradition, and has a waist-level viewfinder just like the original Rolleiflex 2.8F. Also true to form is a crank lever on the side that you turn to prepare the camera for its next shot. The red MiniDigi cameras are selling for around $375.

The miniatures are nice, but it would be a lot nicer if Rollei would finally bring out a digital SLR along the line of the 2000F or 3000. I have lots of Rollei lenses and would jump at a chance to have a Rollei Digital SLR.
