What better way to teach kids about the benefits of wind energy than from a toy car that's powered solely by the wind? The Loopwing Wind Power Generator do-it-yourself kit from Tamiya takes mere minutes to assemble, and it's a perfect way to spend some quality time with the little one while getting him (or her) learning about free energy.
Once all the pieces are in place, attach the little car to the turbine, and in five minutes there's enough energy to power the toy for 3.5 hours of fun. If $30 isn't a lot of money to spend on a toy, why aren't more people excited about using this same technology on a grander scale to power homes?

Your last comment clearly oversimplifies the issues such as the cost and local regulatory hoops that must be jumped through to get a wind powered home. I looked into it and it costs thousands of dollars up front to do it.
