GPS jammer will only inconvenience yourself

gps-jammer-01.jpg

News flash: you aren't interesting enough to be spied on. I know you like getting up in arms about your privacy and how technology makes it too easy for people to track you using technologies like RFID and GPS, but the fact of the matter is that no one cares enough to follow you while you go to rent a movie and pick up some ice cream. I'm sorry, but it's the truth.

If you're still paranoid despite your boring nature, you could always pick up this GPS jammer. Fitting in the cigarette lighter in your car, the jammer supposedly blocks any GPS signals from leaving or entering your car, just in case someone has tagged it with some sort of tracking device. It'll also knock out your navigation system, but hey, it's a small price to pay for the peace of mind you'll get, despite the fact that you're clearly mentally unbalanced.

Adam, You've failed to understand that for every out-there privacy whacko, there's an equally paranoid big-brother gov't bureaucrat that does think that everyone else is a anti-gov't terrorist out to take away their hard-earned fiefdom within the bureaucracy. Remember knowledge is power but secrets are worth gold. All hail, Eris! Praise Bob!

Not to mention that there's some unscrupulous car rental companies out there that use the built in GPS to monitor your speed and issue their OWN fines if you happen to speed. I've heard tell of multiple hundreds of dollars in such fines when someone returns the car. Frankly... I'd just love to block their little money making scheme.

Excatly, with GPS systems being built right into the car these days it would be easy to issue a ticket to the registerd owner. Although, who says this little gizmo won't watch you even closer if say maybe the FBI wanted to check up on you.

Adam- you're absolutely right. Have you ever noticed that when people talk about their 'right to privacy' they use as examples, their right to 'speed' (in a company vehicle), to be in un-authorized areas (while on the job), of being early or late to a jobsite. These same people would have a very real epiphany, if they owned a business and other people were driving their vehicles.
As a side note, just out of curiosity, I wrote to the FCC and asked what their take on the question was. They said, 'It's up to an $11,000 a day fine for both sellers or buyers'.

We have been stalked for 4 years. The first 2 years the police laughed at us. So we took it to a PI and on his recommendation, to the manufacturer of animal tracking devices. These people positively identified the frequency being given off. The device was meant for tracking animals and the persons tracking us had access to one of these devices. We were not paranoid....and the police don't have the devices to check, hence therefore don't care. Thank God for help with these horrible people and the illegal games they get away with.

News flash: My company feels the need to spy on its employees to prevent people claiming OT that isn't worked or driving the company car for personal use. I don't actually have a problem with that but I am good at my job and can do my work in a shorter time frame than allotted with GPS I'm going to have to work a lot closer to my 10 Hour shift instead of getting done in 5-6 hours so I have a choice block the gps so I'm not tracked at work or take my sweet time at work and in effect cut my pay or let them see that I'm getting done early and end up getting more work than the other guys for the same pay.

So even though some people are getting devices like this because of paranoia, there are others for whom this is a genuinely useful device.

GPS jammers are in high use by persons who drive fleet vehicles and feel their employers don't really need to know where they take lunch.
