Canon's 40D DSLR will make photo geeks drool

canon40d.jpg

Canon has just announced its new flagship prosumer DSLR camera: a 10.1-megapixel behemoth known as the 40D. It has a 3-inch LCD display, can shoot 6.5 frames per second, and has the EOS Integrated Cleaning System that vibrates dust off the filter automatically.

But really, when it comes to high-end cameras like this, stats don't really do it justice. What it boils down to is that this camera will take downright beautiful pictures, putting your puny PowerShot to shame. Of course, you'll pay dearly for the right to own such a piece of equipment: The body of the camera is $1,300, while a version with a zoom lens will set you back $1,500. But hey, you get what you pay for.
