In addition to those fancy new iMacs, Apple also announced a big update to their iLife suite of software applications. iLife contains stuff like iPhoto, iDVD, GarageBand, and iMovie. Basically, it's Apple's multimedia software.
So what's new in iLife? Well, first of all, iPhoto now sorts your pics in "Events," making it much easier to figure out just where and when a picture was taken. Rather than sorting through a thousand pictures, you can just look through the events to see what you want. iMovie also got a major overhaul, with the goal being that you should be able to create a movie in under a half hour. It's got a new, cleaner user interface that should make it easer for newbies to cut video. It also got a resolution upgrade to higher-than-DVD quality, which is nice for people who are sticklers when it comes to crispness.
The new iLife comes free on new Macs and is available now for $99 at the Apple store.
