If you have the space and cash to fit a 70-inch HDTV into your lifestyle, Samsung just announced something you might be interested in. That massive LCD panel that came to Korea last moth will be busting into the company's U.S lineup. We've seen huge LCDs before, but this one is backlit with LEDs (light-emitting diodes) instead of a conventional fluorescent lamp. The backlighting tech improves overall picture quality by dimming darker areas of the picture to pump up contrast.

Of course, this biggie-size HDTV comes with all the current HD bells and whistles, including 1080p resolution and HDMI 1.3 inputs. No price or exact availability date, but you should be able to buy one in time for Christmas. Just the thing for grandma. — Peter Pachal
