Hurdle Lighting makes desk lamps edgy again

Hurdle_lighting.jpg

Has desk lighting design peaked? Not according to Lee Suk Woo and Byeon Dong Jin, who created a lamp called Hurdle Lighting. No jumping necessary — the name stems from its edgy appearance when it's lighting up material beneath it. Push the lamp on its side, though, and it more closely resembles a traditional desk lamp, with a built-in sensor adjusting the light accordingly.

Simple and functional, the Hurdle is would be completely at home among modern furniture (or an Ikea showroom), and it's so thin that the clutter factor is virtually nil. Just a concept/prototype right now, the Hurdle has a few hurdles of its own to jump before it can come to market, but we'll be first in line at Brookstone when it does.
