The HD DVD camp just announced an upgrade to their players that will allow for them to access the web and download exclusive content. HD DVD discs will be able to access the web to grab and stream content right to the players, giving them a leg up on the competing Blu-ray players.
It's a neat feature, but not one that will really give HD DVD a big leg up on Blu-ray. What I'd really like to see is an end to this stupid format war, not a bunch of little features touted out that are supposed to entice people into buying a player that may or may not be useful in a couple of years. That, my friends, would be a killer feature, but not one I expect to see for a while.
