Often, I reflect on how I can make my apartment look more like a supervillain lair, so when I heard about the FogScreen, I was intrigued. The idea is pretty straightforward: using a thin curtain of "dry" fog to act as a midair projection screen — basically taking the Bat-signal concept indoors. The bulky projection units are made to work at room temperature, but you need to feed the bulky projection unit lots of water (up to 2½ gallons an hour) to maintain the fog cloud. It's completely safe to walk through the "screen," and the microscopic droplets won't even get you wet.
The manufacturer's just-introduced FogScreen One projection unit is a modular design that you can combine with other Ones to create a fog screen as big as you like. Evil headquarters aside, too-trendy nightclubs and event openings are the most likely places you'll spot a FogScreen, but if you've always wanted to have a cloud for a TV, I'm sure the company can accommodate you. Check out the the sales section of the site for some video of the FogScreen in action.
