Sure, you hear a lot about electric cars these days, but what about electric airplanes? Not so much. That doesn't mean they aren't out there are and a viable alternative to the status quo! Just take a look at this Sonex Aircraft and AeroConversions Product E-Flight Initiative proof-of-concept.
It's a personal airplane that gets its just from the same place as your electric razor: a wall socket. The wee yellow flyer will come loaded with 10 battery "safe boxes," each with 8 Li-Poly battery packs per box. The quiet flyer has a unique shape, with its odd, v-shaped rear wings and tiny rear wheels, but hey, if it flies it flies, right? No word on pricing or a release date, but it shouldn't be too far off.

I like that they are trying to create a useful electric airplane. The only questions arise from battery life, probably giving sub-par performance and endurance. well that and the v tail which while more efficient, is slightly less stable and has a bobble effect noticed in the bonanza.
