World's smallest full-HD projector is a good thing in a small package

m25-dlp.jpg

Norwegian projector manufacturers Projection Design have just unveiled what they claim is the world's smallest full-HD projector, the Action m25. Measuring a mere 3.7" (h) x 9.2" (d) x 10.8" (w), it's seriously tiny, yet it still manages to put out a full 1080p picture at whatever its pointed at. It does this using a single Texas Instruments DLP chip.

Don't think that just because it's small that the m25 is small that it skimps on quality, either. It's got TI's BrilliantColor tech built-in, providing super-bright color reproduction and crisp lines. There's no word on pricing as of yet, but be prepared to put down a serious amount of cash to have the honor of owning something that's the "world's smallest."

Pro: 1080p and good brightness. But the thing that doesn't make sense is "small size". UHP lamps generate significant heat, which requires lots of airflow for proper cooling. Lots of airflow means fans, which means mechanical and airflow noise. A bigger cabinet dampens that noise.
