Maybe you're waiting in line right now. Maybe you're there, outside an Apple or AT&T store, psyching yourself up for that fine piece of touchscreen goodness that you're going to hold in your hands sometime a little after 6 p.m. today. Maybe it's your chosen destiny today to be one of the first to own an iPhone.
More likely, maybe you're at work in front of your PC. Maybe you decided long ago that, even though you really want an iPhone, you'll wait until the hype dies down before you make your purchase. Maybe it's still your destiny to be an iPhone owner, just not so soon.
In either case, you're going to want some fine accessories to complement your new treasured gadget. Well as luck would have it, we're giving away a one-two accessory shot from Belkin, including an Acrylic Case (to protect your Precious) and a Headphone Adapter (which lets you connect any 3.5mm headphones to it), both made specifically for the iPhone. To win the pair of items (valued at $40), just comment below with the top reason why you want an iPhone so much. From the entries, we'll select three winners at random, and we'll ship out the prizes to you late next week. We'll remind you about it in a couple of posts later on and let you know when the contest is over. Good luck!
UPDATE: Slight amendment to the contest, folks. We'll just use this one post for all three winners. The other posts will direct back here. Thanks!
CONTEST CLOSED: Okay, that should do it. Thanks, everybody! We'll announce the winners and send out the prizes next week.

I haven't really been too caught up in all the hype on the iphone until just recently. And just let me say that wow! I am now. That phone is just sexy. The touch sensitivity looks amazing. I love the voicemail options, I hate having to listen through one voicemail at a time, its about time someone allowed me to look at which messages i want to listen to. I'm also excited about the google map features, though I wish there was a gps in the phone itself. I'm a little awe struck at the price but the monthly fees seem resonable. So I think you've done it to me apple. I don't use a mac, don't own an ipod, but I think may be destined to pick up this beauty.

Overall, it's just pretty neat. Although the idea of shelling out $50/month for service isn't the greatest. Can't they just make it a prepaid cell?

I want an iPhone because it has to be the best designed phone ever. I'm tired of clunky menus in strange places. I want a phone that just works.

I've always wanted something that could play music, surf the web, give directions, give me my messages, and connect me to the rest of the wonderful world around me - all in one petite package!
So I'm totally stoaked about getting an iPhone! Oh wait, iPhone? I thought I was explaining why I wanted a girlfriend. Well, I guess if I had an iPhone I could use my newfound hipness to attract a girlfriend. (Once again woman uses an apple to tempt man.)

I like to get the iPhone because just like other Apple products it will work smoothly and well. The way options operate will make sense and be so normal feeling that the learning curve will be but a minute in your life. Plus..anything that does not meet the expectations that I have will be addressed by Apple or a third party! It will be great to have one device to carry instead of my phone and iPod that I tote each day, and the addition of internet access in a full form not a mobile form.
This sets the bar higher for all competition and will be good for everyone.

I always wanted an iPhone so that I could stare at a $500 reflection of myself in the mirror. Not to mention the amazing ability to listen to other people singing, when I love listening to myself sing. So besides the fact that the iPhone is a waste of the green that grows on trees, I would say it would be worth having so that you could join in the conversions that everyone will be having about it.

As a life-long MacAddict, I can't NOT get the iPhone-- it's just THAT cool. Just a couple more hours out here on the West Coast 'til I end up in line for one. Can't wait!
Did iWin? ;)

I've waited for years for this phone. I didn't know it would turn out to be from Apple though. I'm tired of carrying around my phone, my PDA (for contacts and addresses), a small digi-camera for those spur of the moment pics, a magazine to keep me un-bored during the daily trek...ugh, the list goes on.
Now I can have an all in one device that does all that and looks super cool as well. It doesn't take up alot of space and is high quality functionality to boot.
I call it uber-phone....or Uber for short.

I was going to wait until the 2nd generation iPhone. i knew the saying "never buy the 1st generation". BUT about noon on Friday, June 29 I just said I can't wait!! I told my nephew that instead of playing tennis, we were going to have a new experience. Waiting in line for an iPhone! 5 hours later, SUCCESS! I was 15th in line at the Apple Store in the Rockaway Mall, Rockaway, NJ

I got in line around 1pm at the Apple store in the mall here in Portland. About 60th in line. Had my phone around 6:30. It's so awesome! Even the fracken box it came in was gorgeous. Like a fancy piece of jewelry. Apple logo stickers included. :)
The whole experience was fantastic. The Apple staff were so cool (it's my first Apple product). The set up took minutes through iTunes. 10 years with Sprint, and I didn't even have to call them to switch my number to at&t. It was like having your new boyfriend send an email to your (now) ex saying "it's over...i'm sexier".
I've needed a new phone for years, but no one made one with everything I wanted...'till now. I'm still discovering cool things about it. I really love the driving directions. The email, the texting. The Web is beautiful. I've used it in both Edge and Wifi, and the Edge is no where near as slow as some were freaking out it would be. I was the hit of the party and the clubs last night. Everyone wanting to touch it.

After failing to nab an iPhone at the local AT&T store in the 8GB size, I discovered via Apple's website that their stores were much better on inventory. Saturday morning a quick drive to one and it was in hand and activated within an hour, transfered a number too.
I really wanted a well integrated device for business with calendar, phone, mail and this phone performs on all levels better than other things out there. The seamless integration and the fantastic interface is what sets it apart.
Some people may want this feature or that but guess what? Since so much of this is software driven and built on Apple's rock solid OS, well there will be downloads right up until the 2.0 hardware is released.
Qualms about EDGE proved not a big issue. Upgraded speeds on the EDGE network are now in the 200K or better range. I'm getting 120K and that's adequate for the online need in a pinch.
I was so tired of my Sony Ericcson. I'm a lot happier now.
