Weed out prying eyes with wireless camera detector

cam_detect.jpg

Ever have that feeling that you're being watched? Maybe you are, and maybe you can do something about it. Check that — you can definitely do something about it with this 3-GHz wireless camera detector. About the size of a pack of cigarettes, the gadget will seek out any telltale signals of wireless cameras that might be around (anything in the 100-MHz to 3-GHz range), transmitting images of you eating cornflakes to some nefarious home base.

The sensitivity is adjustable, so you can crank it to find those low-power wireless signals. Still, since there's not much in the way of a "display" on this thing, it would be hard to tell what's a camera and what's your neighbor's Wi-Fi. It's only $50, though, so there's not too much to lose in getting this thing, especially if you're the suspicious type.

Great, so, now there's a real tool to find wi-fi hotspots. :)

You're right. It probably is better for finding hotspots than cameras. Finally you can find out which of your neighbors you're mooching off!
