The iPhone release date is announced, world keeps turning
The iPhone is coming! The iPhone is coming! Yes, the phone that everyone's been awaiting anxiously since January is imminent, and the release date was just made official. Mark your calendars: June 29th is the day the phone hits. It's a Friday, so plan to take one of your summer Fridays on that day if you're planning to wait in line — and wait in line you'll have to, as supplies will certainly in no way meet demand.
Yes, there's going to be a huge rush for a $600 cellphone. What's the world coming to? To be fair, the new commercials that Apple just released for the iPhone do make it look pretty sweet, but I'm still reserving judgment 'til I hold one in my hands.

$600? Yikes!
But I still want it. Maybe Apple will sell it as a PDA? I can live with carrying another device (if it successfully replaces my old PDA and my iPod)
