Archos debuts Generation 5 line of portable media players

Last night in New York Archos showed off its Gen 5 line of portable media players. Not all the players were there so some of them had to be talked about behind their backs. These gadgets have options such as personalized plug-ins providing Internet access, HD video and vidcasts.
The Archos Gen 5 line includes:
- 105: 1.8-inch OLED screen with 160 x 128-pixel resolution. It's 3 inches wide and one-third of an inch thick. No price yet, but it should arrive on our shores this fall.
- 405: Half an inch thick with 2 GB of onboard flash memory. Plays video on a 3.5-inch screen. It's sharper than the 105 at 480 x 272 pixels, and it has an SD slot to add storage. This one can output to your television.
- 605: Shown above, it starts at $170, and it goes up from there. This PMP sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen — very sharp with a res of 800 x 480 pixels. Comes with 4, 30 or 160 GB of storage.
- 705: 7-inch touchscreen (no buttons), 800 x 480 pixels. It has Wi-Fi Net access, letting it stream videos and pictures. It also plays more formats than any other player — at least that's what they told me.
