Apple's MacBook Pros got an upgrade today, getting a bump to Intel's Santa Rosa chipset. The faster Core 2 Duo processors are coupled with LED-backlit LCD screens, more memory, 802.11n Wi-Fi cards, and better Nvidia 8600M GT graphics.
They also are offering boosted resolution on the 17-inch model, bringing it up to 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. While Apple says this is a big deal, they're actually really late in getting this resolution into their notebooks, as PC lappie makers such as Dell have been offering laptops with this resolution as an option for many months now. In any case, the price has stayed the same while the guts have gotten better, so if you were holding off on picking up a MacBook Pro now seems as good a time as any to take the plunge.
