Tune-In Bed: This headboard was made for rockin'

tune-in_bed.jpg

There are those who like to jump up out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off, doing push-ups, grabbing their coffee and never getting back under the covers until it's time to turn in that night. And then there are those who go for snooze-pressing records every morning, enjoy breakfast in bed and appreciate a lazy Sunday spent lying back and reading the paper. The Tune-In Bed is for the latter.

A stereo pair of 4-inch speaker drivers bookend the headboard, and a pouch on the side will hold your iPod, MP3 player, or whatever, which you connect via its headphone minijack. A volume knob is pretty much all the controls you get — would it have killed them to include an AM/FM tuner? I mean, "tune in" is part of the name, for crying out loud! At least the curved headboard is upholstered in 100% cotton twill, which should pad you nicely when you lean against it. The frame is made of wood, and crafted so as not to interfere with the acoustics. Prices range from $699 for a twin to $999 for a queen, no mattress included. This is Pottery Barn we're talking about, after all.
