Pulling out a card table for extra seating is so last century. Designer Jakob Gebert has a much better take on the quickly assembled table, called the Tischmich. The trapezoidish legs fit into recessed grooves under the tabletop for storage, popping out and slipping in those arrow-shaped slots in the pic. The folded legs give the Tischmich an aerodynamic feel, and the top is covered with a layer of linoleum, so it shouldn't scratch too easily.
Gebert's design is pretty Spartan, but since it's make of birch plywood, the 6-foot-long Tischmich should be suitable for everything from bake sales to boardrooms. It's a bit Ikea-esque, but you can take heart that the table is made in Germany, not Sweden, by furniture manufacturer Moormann. No price is listed on its site, so next time you swing by the Alps, drop by the factory and let us know, OK?
