Palm has just unveiled what they hope will be the next big thing, and it's called the Foleo. It's a small, laptop-esque device that syncs up with your Treo automatically. That means you can open it up and edit documents and write emails on its 10-inch screen and have it all sync automatically to your handheld.
It's kind of an interesting idea, but I'm pretty sure it spells the doom of Palm. It's a mini laptop without full laptop functionality. You can buy a subcompact laptop that's about the same size that can run a full operating system, and any serious businessperson will want that rather than this neutered device. We'll see, but to me this seems like pretty bad news for Palm.
