Hydrodynamic Building Set, a falling water machine you build yourself

hydrodynamic_set.jpg

If you ever wanted to be the mad scientist with a lab full of bubbling flasks, liquid filled tubes and brimming beakers, this Hydrodynamic Building Set might just be the next best thing. More fun than even the fanciest shower, it combines the intricacies of flowing water with a Rube Goldberg-like mechanism that you build yourself out of a container full of tanks, a frame, tubes, and an electric pump.

Even the purveyors of this set at Think Geek admit the instructions are vague, showing you just a few pictures of finished projects and letting you know how to connect the various components—but the rest is up to you. Your building stakes are high: Either succeed in connecting everything properly, or get out the mop, sucker.

After the jump, check out the video of this intricate water flow machinery at work.

The $89.99 set uses the bottom of its container as a base, and its 300 included parts are enough to design a variety of configurations.
