House-off Switch keeps your energy consumption low

house_off.jpg

Saving energy is all the rage these days. If you want to hop on the bandwagon (and honestly, who doesn't?), then you need to start examining your own energy consumption habits to see where you can cut them down. Like when you leave the house, do you leave stuff on that doesn't need to be? Sure you do. And it's wasteful.

Well, the House-off Switch concept by Jack Godfrey Wood takes that idea to the extreme. It's a lightswitch that shuts all the power off in your house, keeping any of your things from sucking up unnecessary juice while you're gone. Of course, you probably want some stuff on, such as the fridge, your router, and your mom's respirator, but hey, you want to save the environment, don't you?

Why couldn't you just flip the breaker for the power going into the house?
