Enigma fan redefines cutting edge of design

enigma_ceiling_fan.jpg

Gotta hand it to the folks at fan manufacturer Fanimation: It must have taken some extreme restraint to not call this single-blade ceiling fan "The Blade" or "The Cutter" or some other name equally evoking of slicing weapons. Instead they opted for the less violent but somewhat vague "Enigma"… not bad, conveys its unusual design, gets the job done. Though it doesn't quite get across how bold this design is — a single blade spinning around a central halogen lamp, with a span of 60 inches. I expect staring at it while on low speed will become a favorite pastime of many an owner.

The Enigma comes in black, white or silver, includes a remote control, and costs just over $800. You expected such chic modern style to be cheap?
