This week in SCI FI Tech

Who likes gadgets you can wear? I suppose it depends if they're fashionable, useful or just downright cool. Luckily we had all three this week, from the chic E Ink watch to the "damn I'd love one of those" subtitle glasses to the scintillating steampunk spectacles. But those keyboard boxers were just plain dorky.

Between tech-fashion tips, we found time to review a tiny GPS from Mio, the DigiWalker H610, as well as talk with two of the people behind the Internet "community" Second Life. And wouldn't it be great if you could exchange a mountain of textbooks with a single, lightweight eBook? Columnist Stephen Schleicher thinks so, and keys in on a few of the things standing in the way.

More top tech stories from the week:

Saturday: Pentagon putting routers in space
Sunday: Glass platforms may calm sweaty New York subway riders
Monday: iPhone clone of the day: Deeda Pi
Tuesday: Jar provides sun in morning, moon at night
Wednesday: Metro Notebook has embedded E Ink screen
Sunday: Darth Vader hot-air balloon takes fandom to new heights
Friday: Wal-Mart throws some weight around in the HD format war
