Consumer electronics are so boring with their vanilla design and color scheme. This has opened a whole new industry of cases, skins and wrappers designed to cover up the plain and make your device unique. In the ever-growing battle to sell a cover to outdo your neighbor, Swarovski has unveiled five blinged-out covers for the Nintendo DS Lite. Each crystal encrusted cover features one of Nintendo's well known characters like Mario, Yoshi and Link in a dazzling design that's sure to turn heads (and ultimately get you conked on the head like a Koopa and robbed blind).

While these covers may be spiffy, do you really want to spend $600 to cover a device that costs at most $200? I guess if you are the idle rich, the answer would be yes. Unfortunately the coolest cover, pictured above, is for display purposes only, but you can see the rest after the jump.
