More art project than product, these mechanical spectacles caught our, um, gaze with their sweet retro look. Apparently they're totally wearable, and have a couple of design touches to make them more convenient: The nose bridge has a spring that extends an inch or so when worn, while the temple arms retract and ear loops pivot when the specs are folded up for easy storage.
Outside of performance art, we'd probably never wear the wild-looking specs, but we want a pair anyway — if only to go with our steampunk laptop. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the artist, known only as "Y4G3R," is selling. Would make a fun DIY project, though.
See another pic of the mech specs after the jump.

What next? The Jules Vern, Nautilus as a hat? :-)
The steampunk laptop is more practicle but these glasses? Might make an excellent piece for some one who collects eyeglasses frames, but really, how many of us do that?

@davemanxp: well, since these seem to have all the functions of a regular pair of glasses, couldn't anybody use them? if they like the look i mean. on the same note, the steampunk laptop seemed to lack a certain something in the folding together area, so aren't these acctually more practical?

@davemanxp I would, I wear glasses and i wouldn't mind something like that.
