


Sony, who still remembers being king of the portable music player market, like, 20 years ago when people thought cassettes were totally rad, has just announced their latest stab at getting people to ditch their iPods, the E Series. Looking like USB thumb drives, the diminutive players actually pack a lot in to a small package.
Coming in a variety of colors and in 1-, 2-, or 4-GB sizes, the E Series models can be used as a regular flash drives or as MP3 players. They've got color OLED screens on the front, allowing you to actually sort through your music rather than take your chances with whatever is loaded on board. They also charge really quickly, giving you an hour of playback for every minute they're plugged in, with a max capacity of 30 hours. Not too bad, Sony. Not too bad at all.
