Electric vehicle technology has made great strides in the past year, as evidenced by that wicked-fast and sexy Tesla Roadster and now the Velozzi you see here. Wow, awsome advancements! Question is, when, or if ever, will this technology be available for general consumer use?

I don't think it will ever see the light of day. The government will swoop in and kill it before the first parts will ever be made. Any new advancement that reduces the use of oil products will be killed on sight. Maybe if it were created somewhere else in the world that has more freedoms, namely the advancement of technology and reduction of the dependency of fossil fuels, than the U.S. then maybe it can be possible.
