Walking robot makes you even more lazy

hubo_walking_robot.jpgImagine a day when you can ditch your car and walk to work without breaking a sweat. How is that possible? The HUBO Lab, a humanoid robot research center in South Korea, has the answer: a robot which can literally do the walking for you. Meet HUBO-FX1.

HUBO-FX1 is a robot designed to walk naturally, carrying a person (or whatever) weighing up to 220 pounds. The lower part of the robot has legs that walk somewhat like a human, while the upper portion sports a chair (a pimped-out man throne might be cool also) for kicking back in and a joystick for controlling where you go. Specs of the robot may indicate a problem in its design, though — it uses Windows XP for its operating system. While there are probably backups, I certainly wouldn't want to see how this robot reacts to the blue screen of death.
