If it hasn't happened to you yet, it will: You wake up to a dead car battery. Should've made sure those headlights were really off, smart guy. The Sunsei SolarCharger 135 by ICP Solar can prevent this tragic turn of events by keeping your battery topped off with power from the sun.
Just lay the solar panel on the dashboard or if you prefer, attach it to the inside of the windshield using the enclosed suction cups. The panel is designed to work though glass, so by leaving it in the sun you'll always have a full charge. It should work even if your vehicle hasn't been started in a while. Used more as a maintenance product than a charger, the Sunsei provides "trickle down" power, keeping your battery charged and healthy while never overcharging it. It works with any 12-volt vehicle including boats.

I've had one of these types of solar rechargers since the early 2000s. I bought it at Radio Shack...nothing new here.

Interesting! I would like to have one. I need not have to worry on my battery. Since i'm a busy person, i often forgot those simple things like buying new bilstein shocks and even battery charging. Which often lead to a dead battery and car problems.

Okay, unless it has a battery that is just part of the unit and NOT part of the car power system...this is a dud. Anyone tell me why you drive with your lights on? Because it's dark outside (the sun is down)! How does this system draw power? If you answered: From the sun; DING DING DING, you've got it correct. For everyone that STILL hasn't caught on to what I'm getting at, I'll tell you...Sun is down, no power, no charging dead battery. So unless you make it a habit of sleeping for the needed 6 or more hours the sun would be up to charge a battery enough to crank over the engine....another failure for most of the instinances when a dead battery occurs.

*** I'VE OWNED THESE BEFORE ..
IN FACT AT ONE TIME I HAD THREE UNITS PLUGGED INTO ALL LIGHTER/POWER RECEPTACLES AVAILABLE IN MY VEHICLE.. AND UNFORTUNATELY THE DRAW OF CURRENT FROM LEAVING ON LIGHTS OUTWEIGHS ANY RECHARGING ABILITY THAT THE UNITS COULD PROVIDE BACK to the BATTERY...
AND YES.. YOU DO LEAVE THEM IN ALL DAY WHEN THE SUN IS UP.. BUT THE MEAGER AMOUNT THAT IT TOPS YOUR BATTERY OFF... DOESN'T HELP FOR SQUAT WHEN NIGHT APPROACHES and DARKNESS PREVAILS..
THE BEST DEFENSE is a GREAT OFFENSE...
BUY THE OPTIMA BATTERY WITH UNBEATABLE COLD CRANKING AMPS.. AND THE FACT THAT MY NEW CHEVY TURNS ALL LIGHTS LEFT ON : 'OFF' : AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT of TIME AFTER THE IGNITION is SHUT DOWN.. HELPS A LOT... BUT THE ONE ITEM THAT HAS BEATEN ANY "DEVICE" IS WHEN ORDERING YOUR VEHICLE, ASK IF it CAN COME WITH THE DIESEL "DUAL BATTERY" OPTION..
I SET IT UP ON MY BIG BLOCK CHEVY.. AND EVEN AFTER LEAVING LIGHTS ON ALL NIGHT IT CRANKED OVER THE BIG V-8 EASILY .. BUT ON ON SOME VEHICLES ITS A MINOR ORDER OPTION.. BUT WELL WORTH IT.. ESPECIALLY THAT PEOPLE AS USING THEIR VEHICLES AS MOBILE OFFICES WITH LAPTOPS, GPS, CELL-PHONES, HEATERS, AND EVEN COFFEE-MAKERS...ALL PLUGGED IN TO LIGHTER SOCKETS...
CONSIDER IT ON YOUR NEXT VEHICLE...
..........SGT.. ROCK ...
