Army creating legions of flying saucers

I feel like lately we've been seeing all sorts of crazy crap that leads me to believe that this is, in fact, the future that we are living in. I know, I know, technically it's the present, but we've got so much technology that seems straight out of "the future" that I'm wondering if we haven't just reached that sci-fi future that everyone's been waiting for for all these years.

Today's example? Flying saucers are being developed by the U.S. Army. I want to call it a UFO, but it's clearly not unidentified. How will this help soldiers on the battlefield? Well, it'll certainly scare the crap out of the enemy. Who wants to see a legion of flying saucers coming at them? Not me, that's for sure. It'll be interesting to see what the future… I guess the future's future… has in store.

Adam, not sure where you're getting the military testing bit. This baby's built by J.L. Naudin of France. It's called the GFS-UAV project and it uses the coanda effect to achieve lift. You can find specs, videos etc. here.

While you're there check out his other test sights.

It's amazing what you can do in your spare time.
