SMS Technology M300: The cell-phone watch arrives

sms-m300.jpgThough it may seem a little too much like a one of those calculator watches for some, SMS Technology Australia's upcoming M300 watch promises to be a mobile phone on your wrist. I4U News reports it'll see the light of day in late March for around $500.

The M300 watch should be able to work with any GSM network. It also supports Bluetooth so you can sync up a wireless headset, has a built-in MP3 player, can be connected to a computer through a USB port, has a speakerphone, and sports a 1-inch color screen. Nice features all, but we think it would be great if it could also let us view television or show us time by stacking rectangles.

Its looks pretty good.

I think/hope this is the future of cell phones...it just makes sense...people have there cells on them pretty much all the time...why not just have it attached to you instead of taking up pocket space. And now with bluetooth headsets getting a firm grip in the market...it helps this thing out...so you dont stand out in a crowd.

But in order for this thing to sell good, it would need some very good marketing...in which they should try and make it look cool and modern, since oversized watches makes everyone think one thing: Nerd. since theres plenty of nerdy looking watches that have calculators and tvs in them...all of those concepts and products are only hurting this market...once those people stop making there nerdy looking products, and Moto makes a cell watch...it wont catch on.

Ahah! So, the Dick Tracy comic book writers were not so far fetched as those of us who remember the comic book thought they were! Another techy breakthrough for cell phone owners, but their (and that's how you use the word "their", mucielago!) cell phone provider would have to prove connectivity issues (i.e., "can you hear me now?") would imply for the buyer-beware issue. I'd wait for the best wireless provider to prove this watch-wireless phone will work.

lol, I'm always suprised by the number of people who correct me on that.

yes, I know "there" refers to somewhere, and "their" refers to someone...but when I type...I dont really care about grammer to much.

I'm going to skip over this phase and wait for the general purpose computer implanted under my scalp and wired directly into my brain. WiFi, MP3, Date/Time/GPS, calculator, phone, email, browser, and access to every database on the net.
