I can never tell if speakers with a really crazy design will actually sound good or are just designed to be eye-catching. I mean, they're always super-expensive, and they're speakers, so one has to assume that the design will somehow improve the sound, right? I mean, what kind of idiot would spend a ton of money on speakers that don't sound good?
This "La Sphere" speaker looks pretty crazy, and apparently it sounds great as well. It's designed for movie theatres and the loudness and orchestral soundtracks that they usually have. And gee whiz, the round design "eliminates standing waves and creates a more rounded sound." Great! I don't understand, but I'm sure it makes it worth whatever exorbitant price they're asking for it.
