For Sale: Car of the future, low miles

lexus_of_the_future.jpg

This Lexus looks like the car of the future, but it's very real, here today and for sale to the highest bidder. It's a custom-designed Lexus from the 2002 movie Minority Report, depicting the world in the year 2052 with Tom Cruise tooling around in his red sports car looking for "pre-criminals" and eventually becoming one himself.

The film's director, Steven Spielberg, asked Lexus to create the custom auto for the movie. Said the legendary director,

"I thought Lexus might be interested in going into a speculative future to see what the transportation systems and cars would look like on our highways in fifty years. The result of that exploration is something that elevates and transforms driving into an environmental experience."

Take a look at more pics of this extraordinary vehicle:

Until now, if you wanted a car that looked like it just drove out of Minority Report, you'd have to settle for a toy car like this one. Not any more, if you have the cash. The one-of-a-kind Lexus has just 38 miles on its odometer, and is expected to fetch $125,000 at auction.

So what kinda of MPG do they get in the future? How about a warranty, 10,000 moon cycles or 100,000 nano cliks, which ever comes first?

Is this thing even street legal? If it isn't what fun is that, $125 g's for something you can't even pic chicks up in?! What is the point?

Is every sentence in this post a question?

Probably someone like Seinfeld or Leno would snap this up to add to their collection of cars that they let sit around in a air conditioned garage.
