Cool your PC with Ultra's ChillTec Cooler

chilltec_cooler.jpg

Oh, but how computers can get overheated so easily. What is an overclock jockey to do? One solution might exist in the ChillTec Thermo Electric Cooler (TEC). This CPU-chilling unit from Ultra has a look quite like no other computer fan we've seen, with interesting technology built in to try and keep your custom PC rig from having a meltdown.

What specifically does this cooler do? The ChillTec is placed between two copper plates, each sporting four heat pipes that lead to a fan-cooled radiator. It works at a low level for general cooling by using just one set of heat pipes to disperse heat. When things get really hot the TEC fires up to full throttle, engaging the second set; this provides what Ultra describes as a "perfect balance of thermo-electric cooling and heat-pipe cooling." Given the company's name, you think it would've gone with "ultimate balance."
