The skies are about to get a whole lot friendlier if Virgin Atlantic has any say about the matter. They're trying to get the Department of Transportation to allow them to fly domestic US routes with their tricked-out planes. These things are pretty awesome, totally loaded up with features that'll make you wish your flight kept going for another couple hours. Well, maybe not that awesome, but they look to at least make your flight a bit more bearable.

Coach seats each get their own 9-inch touchscreen that gives you access to all sorts of entertainment. You can watch movies, TV shows, listen to music, and surf the web. In addition, each seat gets a QWERTY keyboard to use to chat with other passengers. Yes, you can now hit on that girl you saw four rows ahead of your without waiting for her to go to the bathroom. Classy. In addition to the geekery, you get plush leather seats in both coach and first class and more legroom than anyone else. Let's make this happen, DOT.
