Ever see a fat surfer? I didn't think so. Brookstone's doing its part to keep surfers slim and trim with an exercise platform called uSurf ($500). It works on the body's core muscles and improves balance and strength, since it forces you to stay balanced. I got a chance to give it a ride at CES, and I can say that, much like surfing, this machine is challenging but not hard to use. It gives you a total work out without getting wet or dodging traffic. — Ken Sander
