Sony Ericsson expands Walkman phone line

SonyE_new_phones.jpg

On the heels of 15.5 million Walkman phones old (according to Sony Ericsson), two new Walkman models are coming this spring, the high-end W880 (left) and the more entry-level W200 (right). Both are GSM phones and will come in unlocked and unlocked editions, although no carrier was announced for either. Among the few details available on the thin candybar W880 is a Memory Stick Micro (MM2) slot that can accommodate up to a 1-GB card and will be equipped with stereo Bluetooth.

More details were available for the W200. It's a tri-band phone for global GSM usage, and has a dedicated music-access key. The press materials imply that the phone will come with a 128-MB MM2 card, but it can accommodate up to a 1-GB Memory Stick. The W200 will likely list for around $200 unlocked, but only around $50 from a carrier with the usual contract stipulations and rebates.
