The time when friendly robots tend to our every whim is neigh. We already have the Roomba, the vacuuming robot, and now ROMI is coming to kick little Roomba's ass. Standing a bit above knee height, ROMI is a more imposing presence in your household than the diminutive Roomba. It can vacuum, sure, but it can also talk using its synthesized and assuredly creepy voice, be controlled via WiFi, and record video using its built-in camera eyes.
It might not look like a person, but ROMI is trying hard to be lovable and non-threatening. Just look at that smile! Think people are ready to invite a bigger bot into their homes? We'll see, but we'll get to see for ourselves how ROMI interacts with his human overlords next week when he's put on display at CES.

What a burden it must be to be as infallible as navajas... GREAT job on catching the spelling error! You truly are one to be admired.
Now STFU and go back to your petty, small world.

I have a Red Roomba and I will prefer keeping it just for the vacuuming jobs. Since it is a lot shorter (just three inches high), it will clean under my tables and chairs, while this ROMI will either have to pass around and miss or push the furniture to clean under them.
ROMI may be useful in other homes, but not in mine. Besides, I doubt I can get any better deal than I did with my Roomba (just $40 for my used model on eBay).
